At a time when misinformation spreads rapidly across digital platforms and scientific expertise is increasingly challenged, how can researchers communicate evidence effectively? How can we distinguish reliable information from manipulation?
Following the Stop Climate Disinfo! Confronting the Reality of Climate Change event at the French Institute, we warmly invite you to an evening discussion bringing together two climate scientists from France and the Czech Republic, Jean Jouzel and Zuzana Harmáčková.
The discussion will explore the scientific realities of climate change, the role of research in public debate, and the importance of trustworthy information for informed democratic decision-making.

Speakers
Jean Jouzel is a French climatologist and glaciologist, internationally recognised for his pioneering research on past climates through the study of Antarctic and Greenland ice cores. Former Vice-Chair of the IPCC Working Group on the scientific basis of climate change, he shared the 2007 Nobel Peace Prize awarded to the IPCC. He has played a major role in communicating climate science to
policymakers and the wider public.
Zuzana Harmáčková is an environmental scientist at the CzechGlobe (Global Change Research Institute of the Czech Academy of Sciences). Her research focuses on sustainability, ecosystem services, biodiversity conservation and the societal dimensions of climate change. She contributes to international assessments, including the Intergovernmental Science-Policy Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (IPBES), and works on strengthening the dialogue between science, policy and society.
